Last Cut Of The Year

Early November is generally when you want to do a final cut of the lawn.  This step is very important as it helps the lawn green up quickly in the Spring, and reduces the chance of snow mold appearing once the snow melts.

During the winter time Voles (Commonly called Field Mice) burrow through the grass for warmth, food and shelter.  They especially like longer grass that hasn’t been cut near the end of the year.  They can leave unsightly trails and damage a good portion of your lawn.

Cutting your lawn at 2.5″ inches will also help prevent Vole damage from burrowing through your grass during the winter.
